Road Safety Is Not a Game – Bridgestone SSC Engages Future Drivers

< powrót

Road safety may not seem like the most exciting topic for a high school event. Yet, for students who are soon to become drivers, understanding how to protect themselves and others on the road is essential. By raising awareness early, we help shape responsible attitudes and safer behaviours behind the wheel.

So why are we -employees of the Bridgestone Shared Services Centre (SSC)– involved in this initiative?

As a global leader in the automotive industry, Bridgestone is committed to reducing road accidents and promoting safer mobility. Through educational campaigns and community outreach programs, we actively support road safety efforts around the world.

Our SSC team contributed to this mission by organising a special event titled “This Is Not a Game!” for third-grade students at the Poznań School of Economics (ZSE Poznań).

During a dynamic 45-minute session, students had the opportunity to:

  • Experience a car rollover in a controlled simulator environment
  • Test their first aid knowledge in road accident scenarios, made more challenging by the distracting music they selected themselves
  • Learn about the role of tyres in driving safety and how to assess their condition
  • Try to score a goal while wearing alcohol impairment simulation goggles

The event was enthusiastically received by both students and volunteers, and we’re already planning similar initiatives in the future.

We extend our sincere thanks to High School of Ecomics Poznań for the invitation, to Vice-Principal Emilia Mendak for her support and coordination, and to the team at Zakręceni for their professional collaboration.
