Vegan means healthy!

< powrót

April is another month dedicated to celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Bridgestone SSC. This time we decided to focus on topics related to better life and well-being – both of these issues are very important to us, which is why we invited employees to a webinar devoted to plant-based diet and how it affects our health.

Every year, more and more people try to limit their meat consumption and eat more vegan. Veganism, pescovegetarianism and reductarianism are just some of the names for a variety of diets that completely or partially avoid animal products. Benefits of this way of eating and why it is worth choosing plant-based options were the main topics discussed by Magdalena Jutrzenka – a doctor and culinary blogger, author of the Hello Morning blog. Webinar was part of the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Bridgestone SSC in Poznań.

Magdalena knows almost everything about veganism and well-balanced diet – she has been running her blog with vegan recipes for almost 12 years! The webinar prepared by her was a large portion of easy to digest knowledge for us, and its main goal was to encourage our team to try something new! What could we hear about?

First of all, we learned how a plant-based diet positively affects our health. Not all of us knew that even a partial avoidance of animal sources of protein (in favor of vegan ones) reduces the risk of diabetes, lowers the level of „bad” cholesterol, decreases blood pressure, and – as a result – extends our lifespan!

During the webinar, we also learned about the advantages of legumes and the ways to easily introduce them into our daily diet, even when we do not like their taste. The tips that Magdalena shared with us were really inspiring, but also surprising! For example, it turned out that white beans are a good addition to… smoothies!

Later in the meeting, we could hear about the fact that the plant-based diet is beneficial not only for ourselves, but also for the planet. The diet which is dominated by animal products has a very negative impact on the natural environment, but even a partial modification of our eating habits can change a lot!

Finally, we got to know some delicious (and simple) vegan recipes, substitutes for non-vegan products available in Poland, and an application that helps people prepare balanced plant-based meals. We are convinced that thanks to this – and thanks to all the other issues that were raised during the webinar – our employees will not only be willing to test vegan options but will also include them in their daily diet more and more often!

Become a responsible traveler

As part of the next month of celebrating the 10th anniversary of Bridgestone SSC in Poznań, we had another opportunity to participate in an unusual webinar. This time its subject was inspired by the slogan „Better world” and the upcoming holiday season. Karolina and Bartek Wudniak, the authors of the TropiMy Przygody blog, met us virtually to talk about responsible tourism – because tourism, although brings a lot of benefits to local communities, can also have many negative effects if it’s not sustainable.
