Healthy and effective remote work

< powrót

What to do to make remote work even more effective? How to combine it with other duties to maintain a balance and a healthy attitude? We learned the answers to these questions during the first webinar organized as a part of the Bridgestone SSC’s 10th Anniversary Celebration.

Due to the pandemic, a large part of the society was forced to switch to remote work mode. Our team was also affected by this. Daily communication, meetings, consultations and coffee talks – since March 2020 we have been doing these online. During this time, we had to develop new habits and a new mode of work. After almost a year of functioning this way, most of us already know what distracts us and what makes it easier for us to perform tasks.  However, we wanted to provide employees with the opportunity to verify individually whether the work system adopted and used by them is actually the most beneficial and effective.

At Bridgestone, we want the difficult conditions not to put additional strain on our employees – especially in terms of professional activities. As much as we can, we want to help them carry out their daily tasks in an easy and calm way – hence the topic of Wednesday’s lecture, which was called “Healthy and effective remote work”. It was a lecture that started a series of events planned for our employees in the coming months. Each of them is to have one common goal – focusing on a better job, a better life and a better world.

We wanted to provide employees with professional knowledge, so we invited Wojciech Woźniak to conduct the webinar; he is an entrepreneur, business trainer and expert in own and group effectiveness. His experience and knowledge were really huge! During the meeting, we got to know the tools and tips that we can use in remote work and we verified what really helps in it. We learned how to control our stress, how to properly plan our time and how to find motivation to perform daily tasks. We also learned about things, such as the 12 healthy principles and methods for communicating with different personality types. This last topic was particularly interesting for us, because despite sharing a common mission in our daily work, our team is still a combination of really different people!

Some of the information provided was already presented in the organization, so our employees have already learned about various techniques and systems of work. The webinar helped us to accumulate this knowledge, recall and refresh the most important issues, but most of all – it inspired us to change! After more than a year of remote work, each of us already has some habits, so it was important for us to look at our activities from the distance and implement what everyone finds helpful – in order to improve our work comfort and satisfaction with performed tasks.

The webinar “Healthy and effective remote work” is just the first in a series of lectures organized for Bridgestone SSC employees – but we have already been positively surprised by the number of participants! It gives us great motivation for further actions. We are looking forward to the next actions and meetings!

What does a frog have in common with a bulb?

This intriguing question is part of a webinar prepared for us by Jarosław Szulc – a promoter of positive thinking and of conscious leadership. Our guest's story was a fascinating journey and an attempt to answer the question "How to inspire yourself and others in times of chaos and uncertainty, and what does a frog have to do with a bulb?" which was not accidental! In March, the theme of the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the SSC is "Inspiration".
